Kindergarten, here she comes!

As you can see, it hasn't taken us long to mull over the idea of letting Laura do 4k another year, or push her along to Kindergarten. I had my reservations given her late birthday, and her 'sometimes' lack of maturity. But I've watched her march onto that summer school bus into a school among kids she really doesn't know, and she absolutely loves it. I anticipated issues of meshing her into daycare with Ainslee for the summer, and surprisingly Ainslee had more issues with it than she did. She continues to delightfully surprise me;). My mom simply put it best: I don't think you can hold that girl back.

She's grown quite a bit, but it's her determination that makes me want to send her moving forward. I have tons of resources here at work that can give me educated insight, but a lot of it boils down to what her expectations of the next year are going to be-and she will flat out tell you, she's going to eat lunch in the gym, and does not have to take a nap. That paired with my own instinct.

Her birthday invite says it all. I'm just trying to figure out how I will break it to her that she has to follow dress code. We're going to have to come up with some creative accessories, because collared shirts and solids are going to be a struggle for this girl.

It is hard to believe she is going to be 5, when putting her birthday movie together I was amazed at how much she has grown in this past year-not only in looks, but developmental milestones. She loves to swim, is enjoying gymnastics, and really has no transition issues whatsoever this summer. Watching her over the past few months truly has been a joy to me, I can't wait to see what the upcoming year will bring for her.
